What’s On: Spring 2024

Hello, welcome to the spring edition of What’s On, a guide to the events run by Govanhill Baths from March to May.

We’re delighted to be part of the Glasgow Climate Action Hub that with other organisations wants to get people more involved in tackling climate change by connecting communities, building skills, and using resources wisely. Do your bit and take part in one of the fun and educational activities run by our upcycling project, Rags to Riches.

This issue we are also celebrating International Women’s Day with a festival that includes the importance the baths have had for South Asian women and the great contribution they made to saving the building.

We’re excited to announce a new series of bulletins dedicated to the innovative history and the exciting future of Govanhill Baths. Each edition will focus on key aspects of the baths that show why it is so unique and important for Govanhill. Keep an eye out for them but to make sure you don’t miss any, sign up for our email newsletter

On a very sad note, everyone at Govanhill Baths was sorry to learn of the passing of our friend Joanne O’Neill. Working with us over many years, Joanne built a strong connection with the baths and we will miss her greatly. Instead of a sombre ceremony, Joanne’s loved ones will have the opportunity to celebrate her life with a special exhibition of the artwork she created with her friend Lisa.
