Hello, welcome to our summer edition of ‘What’s On’, a guide to the events run by Govanhill Baths from June to August.

The issue will also be celebrating our annual Govanhill Carnival and Festival in the first two weeks of August. This free festival celebrates the rich diversity of our community. For details of our extensive programme of events covering the Carnival, book festival, talks, walks, exhibitions as well as our Street Music Festival, keep an eye on our website.

We are excited to announce the jubilant return of the Govanhill Parade on the 3rd of August 2024. It stands as a declaration of pride in our diversity and solidarity with all communities. We’ll march in solidarity, proclaiming that everyone is welcome here.

Rags to Riches work with the Glasgow Climate Action Hub continues with events, classes and public art pieces being delivered. Check out what free activities you can be involved with!

At Govanhill Youth Club there are sessions available for young people until 27 June. Check out the schedule here. The summer programme will be released mid June.

Govanhill  Baths Ceramics are offering a variety of workshops from handbuilding, wheel throwing to mindful carving . More information on the latest workshops and costs can be found under the projects menu on the left.

At the People’s Pantry the Carfin St Gardening Project continues every Mondays and Thursdays. More information on times and location are available here.

Archive and Heritage have launched ‘Where We Stand’, a collaborative with GBCT, Community Land Scotland and the Travelling Gallery. The project looks at Scotland’s community ownership journey over the last 100 years and explores where we go next. More information can be found in our What’s On guide.

Our Wellbeing activities, free to anyone living locally, continue to be as popular as ever. We now have double the Yoga due to demand!
