September is a busy month again, with plenty going on over and above the busy rooms that are used daily by the whole community.

On Friday 4th Imagination – The Festival of Ideas kicks off in the Steamie.  The event is held across the Southside over the weekend with the baths hosting some amazing lectures and talks.  For further details www.imaginationfestival.co.uk

The monthly meet of Sew Lah Tea Dough is this Saturday (5th) from 10.30am, and a week later we will be having a meeting of Lets talk about Art a group of local people discussing how the arts fits in to the redevelopment of the pool into a Well-Being Centre.  Boths events are free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Govanhill Theatre Group have three theatre events this month.  Derek Banner’s comedy Sweeps is on 10,11,12 September, There is a rehearsed reading of The Scarlet Pimpernel on Sunday 13th and a touring play Kissing Sid James on 26 September.  All are in The Steamie and tickets are available from www.brownpapertickets.com

On Sunday 13th afternoon, we have the 4th annual Govanhill Poetry Splash with youtube sensation Hollie McNish among others
