Remembering the future (Women’s group)

Some sessions include a guided walk and museum visit, We will give you notice of which ones and assistance to make this possible.

A series of weekly workshops will be hosting by artists Paria Goodarzi and Francisco Llinas open to women from global majority backgrounds interested in learning new skills and develop their creativity through history and artefacts of the Govanhill area.

The workshops will explore art as an avenue to come together, share our cultural experiences, local histories in responds to urban spaces through a variety of techniques such as printmaking, creative writing, walking and photography.

A small showcasing event at the end of the programme will be hosted, where the groups will share their work and experiences to the wider community.

Govanhill Baths is a member of the national Culture Collective network and have a team of artists working with the local community and interpreting the theme of ‘Occupy!’.
Culture Collective was created by Creative Scotland and the Scottish Government to provide support for the creative sector post-COVID and a new foundation for participation with the communities of Scotland.

When completing the booking form please let us know of any access needs that we may be able to help with. Travel costs can be provided, and childcare can be arranged if needed.

*Our use of the word ‘women’ is inclusive of Trans and Intersex women. These workshops are also open to non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centres the experience of women.
