Govanhill Baths has a rich history. From the launch of the Baths and Washhouses Committee in 1875 which paved the way for local leisure centres, through the laying of the foundation stone in 1914 to the occupation of the baths in 2001 and beyond, there is plenty to explore. What’s more, it is situated in the most diverse community in Scotland, with over 88 languages spoken in a fairly small area! With all this in mind, explore this section to learn about the opportunities the new building will provide for discovering more about this building’s unique history.
