Online classes and Activities

Our free Wellbeing activities are for people living within a mile of Govanhill who are not currently working, receiving benefits and not in education. We have an access fund available if you need support to take part.

  1. Book in for a class or activity at least one hour before the class starts.  You will be emailed a registration form to fill in and email back.
  2. You will receive an invite in your email shortly before the class starts to join via Facebook Live or Zoom. Check your junk mail if you can’t see it.  In the email there will be a list of suggested things you could have to hand.
  3. Get comfy at home, with a good internet signal and anything you might need.
  4. Enjoy the class!  Any feedback or suggestions can be emailed to joanna@govanhillbaths.com

Starting back Wednesday 5th May.

Suitable for beginners, this ancient martial art combines deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements. Practised around the world for its health benefits.

The class will be taught by Danny, taking place outside at the back of the centre. Please dress for all weathers! Bringing layers, waterproof and comfortable footwear. You may also want to bring some water, a snack and any medication that you require.

Booking is essential as numbers are restricted.

COVID-19 Rules will be observed regarding social distancing and personal hygiene. You will have access to the toilets within Larkfield Centre.

A free gentle yoga and relaxation class with Jagjit to help you stay fit and healthy during lockdown.  Suitable for beginners and those who have been attending our regular yoga classes.  Taught by Jagjit.

Calling all queers… Join us for a series of workshops on growing food and gardening.

You will receive a growing pack with seeds, compost and pots – things you need to grow vegetables and herbs on your windowsill.

Ideas include growing from seed to harvest, guerrilla gardening, nature writing, queer ecology, propagating herbs and houseplants, using herbs for wellbeing and making natural dyes.

The group will be facilitated by Martha Adonai Williams, who is a black queer facilitator, community organiser and food grower based in the Southside.
The project is supported by Govanhill Baths Community Trust and Urban Roots!

Are you free in the daytime and looking for something fun and relaxing to do? Are you looking for a regular creative activity to take part in? Are you keen to learn new skills and meet new people? Join the new Women on the Mend, an 8-week Craft and Self Care course exploring a wide array of subjects including sewing, embroidery, homemade face masks and more! 

Open to anyone living in Govanhill who identifies as a woman, is not currently employed or in education and is receiving benefits.

Pottery for Beginners

A six-week course suitable for beginners. Explore different techniques to make handbuilt pots and sculptures including pinch, coil, slab building, tiles and simple decoration. See your ideas come to life in a supporting and friendly atmosphere. Booking essential as places are limited due to social distancing.

Cross Point

Weekly outdoor activities in collaboration with Urban Roots
Wed 28th October – Wed 9th December, 1.30pm – 2.30pm
Community Gardens at Polmadie

Cross Point is a peer led mental health support group for adults (18+). It’s for anyone experiencing any challenges in life, or wanting friendship and connection.

This new weekly session is run in collaboration with Urban Roots offering outdoor gardening activities like plant cutting for growing plants at home, bulb planting and winter wreath making. Numbers are limited due to Covid restrictions so booking is essential.

GBCT has been working with Cross Point throughout lockdown, providing free Arts, Health and Wellbeing activities as well as mentoring support to the group leaders.
