Cast Offs

Wellbeing Classes

We have a variety of Wellbeing classes to improve your physical and mental health, develop your skills, improve your employment opportunities, and help you to get to know other people in Govanhill and nearby.  All classes are part of a rolling programme and are free.  Priority is given to those receiving benefits and living in the G41/42 areas.

Pottery for Beginners

An eight-week course suitable for beginners. Explore different techniques to make hand-built pots and sculptures including pinch, coil, slab, press moulding and tiles. Experiment with decoration and see your ideas come to life in a supportive and relaxing atmosphere. Booking essential.

Southside Sew ‘n’ Sews: Patchwork and Quilting Group

Weekly drop-in to work on your patchwork/quilting project, sew and socialise. Bring your project, materials and sewing machine. No tuition is offered so members need to have some basic sewing knowledge. Tea, coffee and support provided! Sewing machine available for those that don’t have one. No booking required.

Yoga for All

Our gentle yoga classes could help you stay fit and healthy! They run on Monday mornings in eight-week blocks.

Want to lean to knit or crochet? Or improve your knitting skills or exchange patterns in a friendly atmosphere then come along to Cast Offs, which runs every Monday at 12.30pm.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi, the ancient martial art, combines deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements. Practiced around the world for its health benefits. Suitable for beginners, all welcome. Booking essential.

Govanhill Fishing Club

Whether you are and experienced angler or new to fly fishing come along to the Govanhill Fishing Club, meets weekly and organises regular fishing trips. The next three months the Club will be running a ten week fly-tying course suitable for beginners and those who wish together to make fly-ties in a social environment. Booking essential.
