Skills Development

Rags to Riches is an award-winning upcycling project that’s been providing workspaces and educational programmes since 2011. With our team of upcycling professionals, we inspire and reskill our community. We produce a range of locally-crafted affordable upcycled products that we sell in various outlets. Rags to Riches also provides an outreach service.

  • Up-skill individuals and create employment opportunities
  • Increase wellbeing and support personal development
  • Increase awareness of reuse and upcycling
  • Increase and support a local and circular economy

Making Scrubs for the NHS

Rags to Riches is working with For the Love of Scrubs linking our team of healthy tutors to make scrubs for the NHS.
We will use our equipment such as industrial sewing machines and fabric cutter to make large amount of scrubs which will be delivered to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and other frontline healthcare staff.

Rags to Riches New Uphub Project

We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded by Keep Scotland Beautiful funding to run Climate Challenge Fund (CCF) projects in 2020-22.
Govanhill Baths Community Trust Rags to Riches project will offer free support to help Govanhill and surrounding communities to improve waste management and increase recycling rates of plastics, textiles and wood. The project will engage schools, community groups and local businesses in workshops on waste reduction, sorting, collection and upcycling. The project will increase understanding of climate change in the local community through education programmes on the environmental impacts of waste and the benefits of a circular economy.
