The refurbishment of the baths building would not have been possible without the dedication and passion of the local community, who saved the building from closure over 20 years ago. There is a lot of pride locally and further afield about what Govanhill managed to achieve, and a real affection for the building. It is therefore crucial that local people, school groups, and other groups are able to visit the baths building when possible during the refurbishment. This is not always possible due to the heavy-duty nature of some of the construction work and also due to covid-19 restrictions, however we aim to offer as many people as possible the chance to see inside the building at some point before reopening.
Our most recent tours took place during Doors Open Days 2021, and saw 70 people visit the baths building. Due to covid restrictions, this was the maximum number of people we could accommodate.
