Introduction to Throwing : 23rd of June
£60.00
Come along to this one and a half hour class and get a feel for wheel throwing!
Facilitator Robert will take you through all the basics to get you started on the wheel, covering how to make small bowls, jugs and cylinders. By the end of the class you can expect to make between 2-4 pieces. This session is a perfect day out to share with friends and family, so why not learn a new skill in a social setting!
After the class, Robert will clean up the bases of your pots and your work will be glazed and ready to collect within 2-3 weeks of the course.
This class is suitable for complete beginners, and all materials and firings are included in the price. You shouldn’t get too messy but we advise you to wear old clothing, and we have aprons in the studio should you require them!
Please note this class will only run with a minimum of 2 bookings.
Dates & Times : Friday 23rd June 12:00 – 1:30PM
About your tutor Rob Hunter
Graduated in ceramics and glass from Gray’s school of Art in 2017, I have been able to travel with my work with an internship with Maria De Haan in the summer of 2017 and most recently, completed an 3 months Artist in Residency with her in Deia, Mallorca. Mainly a thrower but my main interest is in developing my own glazes by collecting natural materials on my travels, making my work inspired by location, nature and time. Now based in Ayr, working from my home studio where I continue my work and develop my glaze research further.
