Govanhill Baths are looking to recruit a part time delivery driver to support the collection and delivery needs of the People’s Pantry. The position will require someone who is physically fit and able to carry out manual work, with a commitment to equal opportunities, a non judgemental attitude and an ability to work alongside volunteers and staff.
The Pantry is a community-led, dignified alternative to the significant food security issues which exist within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Transporting food from a variety of warehouses, stores and supermarkets to the People’s Pantry
- Carrying heavy boxes of canned foods
- Supporting volunteers
- Loading and checking the Pantry van and reporting any defects
- Following the planned pick and delivery route and schedule
- Driving in a safe, conscientious and courteous manner
- Delivering and collecting for other GBCT initiatives as required
