Job Opportunity – Swimming Instructor
Govanhill Baths Community Trust is now looking for an additional swimming teacher to join our small team to support delivery of our Learn to Swim Programme. Classes are small, with 2 teachers per class working in the water to support the learners. We aim for a fun, learning environment, while our learners build water confidence and begin to master the techniques required for becoming a competent swimmer. We are particularly looking for a teacher to deliver our Monday after-school lessons. Location: Govanhill Baths Community Trust (GBCT), 99 Calder Street, Govanhill, G42 7RA
Reports to: Swimming Supervisor
Hours: Mon 15.30 – 17.30 (2 hrs), initially with potential for further hours as required
Rate of Pay: Self-Employed / Sessional – from £10 per hour, dependant on qualifications and experience
Start Date: as soon as possible
Role: Support the delivery of swimming lessons to individuals in class lessons to ensure that they each progress at their own pace.
Requirements:
- UKCC / STA / ASA Level 1 or Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification
- RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification (or equivalent) – desirable
- Current PVG Scheme Member
- Experience working with children and adults
