Lefty Film Club presents: The Great Grunwick Strike

Fri 23 Oct 2015| 7:00 pm- 9:30 pm

- £3

In the face of the Tory Trade Union Bill, Lefty Film Club takes a look at the the Grunwick dispute which erupted at a photo processing plant in Willesden, London, in the summer of 1976 and lasted two years. A predominately East African and South Asian female workforce went on strike over appalling working conditions and the issue of trade union recognition.

The dispute is remembered as one of the most significant and bitter in the history of the British labour movement.

We will be showing “The Great Grunwick Strike 1976-1978: A History” directed by Chris Thomas and Commissioned by Brent Trades Council.

This will be followed by a discussion on Trade Unions led by PCS Scotland Vice President John Davidson.

£3 donation on entry.
