T-Shirt to Face Mask Upcycle

Click to download the postcard (PDF)

This is a really easy mask to make from an old t.shirt. It’s really comfortable to wear and stays in place when talking. Each mask only requires a small amount of fabric so your t.shirt will provide enough for you to experiment to get the size and fit that is comfortable for you. I made 6 from a medium size men’s T.

This is one example of the many useful ways to make use of old T.Shirts. Sadly they are often made to a low standard under harsh conditions, sold cheaply, worn once or twice and discarded, often ending up in landfill or incinerated. Making use of our unwanted items through creative and practical repurposing saves us money and can help to reduce levels of consumption and waste within our communities by opening our eyes to the value in our household waste.
