Creating Banners and Captions with Climate Change Creative:
A COP26 Discussion and Workshop (Online)

Wednesday 03 November, 12:00 to 2:00pm (GMT)

In this online event, you will be joining Artivist Fadzai Mwakutuya and artists from different parts of the world in a conversation about environmental issues and climate chaos, and how this is impacting and informing our artwork.

This will be a virtual collaborative session to create and make banners and captions inspired by the ClimateChangeCreative Digital Launch Exhibition.

The ClimateChangeCreative online Gallery will be used as an artivist resource to facilitate the sharing of original artwork within the public domain which raises climate change awareness. Including, but not limited to: paintings, banners and placards. Focusing on disadvantaged or marginalized communities, we invite participants to visually express their personal experiences and share creative ideas in relation to climate change.

On November 3rd we have a unique opportunity to develop links and bring together public collaborations online – promoting cultural exchange. In exploring issues surrounding climate change, expressed through the arts, we hope to foster public understanding of climate change action and enable marginalized voices from different parts of the world to be heard.

The session will have small breakout rooms, where we will facilitate the space to create slogans in solidarity with environmental and climate chaos campaigns. Text in different languages will be very welcome.

You will need writing / mark-making materials that you can find around you, such as pens, pencils, paint, charcoal, natural pigments, etc.
Recycled cardboard and old paper sheets can be used as starting points to banners you can finish in your own time.

We will email you the joining instructions (a Zoom link) on the 2nd of November. Please email community@govanhillbaths.com if you need any further details and information meanwhile.

By joining and taking part you agree to share banners and slogans with others for free.
