The 8th annual Govanhill Poetry Splash takes place on National Poetry Day (Thu 01October). For the first time it will be an online event due to COVID restrictions.

Staring back in 2012, the Poetry Splash had featured some of Scotland’s best known poets and spoken word artists including Liz Lochhead, Tom Leonard, Harry Josephine Giles, Darren “Loki” McGarvey, Jenny Lindsay, Robin Cairns and many others.

This year the featured poets are Jenny Foulds, Nasim Ali, Mitchell Robertson and Iona Lee with music from Zara Gladman. Hosted by Jim Monaghan, it will take place on Mark McGhee’s You Call That Radio? platform and can be watched live on Youtube, Twitch or Facebook.
