Paranormal Presences at The Baths!

Paranormal Presences At The Baths!

Posted: 13th Dec. 2011 By Andrew Johnson

This was the first event in our newly converted front suite of the baths and a wee group of Friends of the Baths joined the "search", toasting our "foot in the door" at the same time!

The spirit of Sir Daniel MacCauley, the Lord Provost of Glasgow (who formally opened the baths in 1917) no doubt was turned as the Lanarkshire Paranormal society investigated the baths on 3rd/4th December. Around 20 or so spirited folk were there for the "search". A face was seen they say as were other signs and signals from "the other side", some of them grim, all ethereal. No doubt it was the Lord Provost returning to show his delight that, undaunted, local people had remained faithful to his cause of all those years ago and determined in spite of a ten year struggle, to see the building re-opened.

A report from Lanarkshire Paranormal:

Most of the locations were very active. In the slipper baths, the medium picked up on a caretaker, possibly with the name Vincent.

When the cameras were being set up a very loud dragging sound was heard coming from one end of the room.

At the corner of the ladies pool, a whole team of 5 people saw a black figure standing for a few moments and a sound of a squeaky rusty-hinged door was heard coming from one of the changing cubicles.

The medium present also picked up on a small girl who had been drowned in the toddler’s pool, possibly with the name Elizabeth.

Finally, the most active and amazing place was the steamie! There, it was truly amazing and witnessed by all 20 or so people present. A figure appeared for a few seconds in the entrance peering around the door. The mediums believed it to be a man called Tom or Dan.

Following this, at the other end bangs were heard and about six moving shadows appeared. Then a large ball of brilliant white light (almost like a comet with a tail)) about a foot long shot over our heads and vanished. This light is what paranormal investigators believe to be 'residual energy', something akin to a human soul.

We have never seen anything like that in the 16 years of doing this work.

There is now a huge interest in what we have witnessed and we are keen to hold another event in the spring!
