Doors Open Days 2010

Posted: 6th Oct. 2010 By Govanhill Baths

Govanhill Baths was opened to the public for the first time since closure in September 2008 for Doors Open Day. The massive queues and overwhelming public interest served as an endorsement of everything the Trust had striven to do. The Baths were open for a whole weekend in 2009, hosting Deep Breaths, a major art exhibition, and again for the weekend in 2010 with the launch of the Govanhill Asset Mapping project. Over the 3 years of Open Doors around 5,000 people have enjoyed tours of the Baths building, events, music, children’s activities, refreshments and gained a flavour of what the Trust hopes to achieve in the future.
