Streetland Success

Posted: 15th May 2010 By Alex Wilde

Thanks to the cooperation of artist, musicians, street vendors, filmmakers and the Govanhill community hundreds of people enjoyed a fun packed & informative weekend with up to 36 events & installations in and around the streets of Govanhill. A well coordinated program ensured that nobody missed out on the event of their choice.

Starting with tea, coffee and cakes at the CCP & incorporating everything from a Marching band, poetry at the baths, art exhibitions, bike powered scaletrix, an architectural walk, the Maylidh Ceilidh, a Counter Intelligence spy game and much much more, the events culminated with several excellent documentaries from local filmmakers at the Peace Garden in Westmoreland Street.

Above are just some of the photographs taken by the revellers over the weekend of Friday 30 April – Sunday 2 May
