Govanhill Baths
Take an experimental plunge into the depths of Govanhill's disused Edwardian swimming pool. Join a kaleidoscopic shoal of musicians, sound artists, orators, costumed performers, sculptures and local film makers in the echoing acoustics of the cavernous Govanhill Baths.
‘A Sonic Soak’ is an ambitious, celebratory and provocative audiovisual experience set within this this unique B Listed historic building, closed to the public in 2001.
Dive in over the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of August from 11am-8pm (Sat) and 1-8pm (Sun) and open your ears to an eclectic line up programmed by renegade Glasgow sound and art collective 85A www.85a.org.uk

Entry to A Sonic Soak is free and safe for all ages. Refreshments available.
If you feel like making a splash at the deep end, feel welcome to attend in your finest swimwear or an aquatic creation of your choice. There's a free workshop on Thursday August 19th for anyone who wants a bit of help with their outfit. Contact siobhan@theartstree.co.uk for more details.

www.runglasgow.orgWe’d like to invite you on the perfect road to recovery from your Sonic Soak in the Baths (22nd and 23rd August).
A group of Baths, Volunteers, Directors and Friends has refused to heed all sensible advice and has formed a team to run/jog/walk the Glasgow 10K (Sunday 5th September) in aid of the Govanhill Baths of course.
With only about three weeks left there’s just enough time to prepare for this pleasant day out from George Square to Glasgow Green via many green points Southside. A great way to spend a summer Sunday morning we all say! Closing date for entry is August 19th.
We are currently working on exciting plans to re-open the front of the Baths and the Steamie for community activities in a Phase 1 development and we need all the extra funds we can get!
