Words and Music at the Baths
The latest fundraiser for Govanhill Baths Community Trust features the usual mix of poetry, comedy and music featuring Edinburgh poet Ruth Aylett in a rare Glasgow gig, ‘Seeds of Thought’ stalwart Colin Poole, and singer-songwriter Alan ‘Citizen Smart.
Colin Poole’s latest book Verse Vs the Bourgeoisie was launched last month at the CCA in a joint event with Tawona Sithole who was Govanhill Bath’s artist-0in-residence during Refugee Week. The event is hosted by Jim Monaghan, Scottish national slam runner-up who will be appearing at the BBC Slam at the Edinburgh Fringe later this month.
Alan Smart is a political singer-songwriter whose humorous takes on Scottish politics are a feature of the folk scene around the country.
Come along and have a laugh and a sing-along while raising money towards the rebuilding of Govanhill Baths, entry is by donation and drinks are available on the night.
